Cornhusker NAMA took on the topic of how public relations has changed with social media – and how we can do a better job of connecting PR and marketing strategy, along with account planning, when dealing with social media.
Our panel included PR Counsels: Jill Heggen, Swanson Russell Associates and Brad Penner, Snitily Carr. Additionally two ag journalists joined in: Ken Anderson, Brownfield and Terry Anderson, Midwest Messenger and Midwest Producer. Kim Lang moderated the panel as they discussed successful social media campaigns, organizing efforts, staffing them, the tools to use, the role of media in these initiatives and how reporter roles have changed with their social responsibilities.

Florida NAMA Members attended the Florida Ag Expo on November 5th in Balm, FL. Sixteen students and faculty helped promote Florida NAMA to exhibitors and growers attending the day-long show. Both Student and Professional members had the opportunity to tour the research facility, attend educational sessions and gather together over lunch. University of Florida NAMA students presented an afternoon session on “Getting the Most out of Social Media.â€Â Growers in the audience had several questions and appreciated the education from students.
