The Agri-Business Educational Foundation (ABEF) had great success with three fundraising opportunities at this year’s Agri-Marketing Conference.

On Tuesday, April 14; 40 golfers hit the green at The Deuce at the National Golf Course. It was a perfect day for a golf outing. The golfers enjoyed lunch before their golf games and rounded up the day with a reception and award ceremony for the winning teams. Check out some photos of the fun!

ABEF launched a new fundraiser this year that tied into the NAMA Student Marketing Competition. The “Sensational Six” competition allowed participates to guess the winner of the student competition for a chance to win a $500 Visa gift card! The big winner was Steve Tomac, John Deere, who correctly guessed that Cal Poly – San Luis Obispo would be the big winner at this year’s competition. The ABEF Silent Auction also had great success this year. With about 45 donations, attendees had a wide variety of items to bid on. The final amount made on the auction is still being compiled, but it was definitely a success.

And finally, ABEF had HUGE success with the 2015 Century Club sign up. Before the start of conference, only 40 people had donated the $100 to be a part of Century Club. But by the end, ABEF had 105 names on the list! Out of those 105 names, Amy Bugg, Verdesian Life Sciences, was the big winner of this year’s Wall of Wine! Congratulations to Claire Masker, National Pork Board, for winning an iPad Mini from NAMA on April 1. Claire’s name was included in a drawing because she referred a new member to NAMA.

The “Member-Get-A-Member” campaign runs from March 1
through April 1, 2015. The drawing will take place in the Silent Auction Area in the Connection Point of NAMA’s Annual Conference on Thursday, April 16.

National NAMA is excited to announce their newest employee, Jena Mealy. Jena is the new Administrative Assistant for NAMA and we are so excited to have her join our team. She “was a stay at home mom for 10 years, a preschool teacher for the last 5 and was ready for an opportunity to work with adults.” She is “enjoying being part of the wonderful, fantastic NAMA team.”  Please help us welcome Jena to the NAMA team!

NAMA and AAEA sponsored a reception in conjunction with the 2015 Commodity Classic in Phoenix, Arizona, with the support of the Great Plains and Rocky Mountain NAMA chapters.  After hours of standing in the Trade Show, approximately 80 people took advantage of the opportunity to mix and mingle with fellow NAMA and AAEA members.  Check out some pictures of the event on the NAMA Flickr site.
