NAMA Foundation at the 2018 Agri-Marketing Conference

A new name, the same great cause.

ABEF is now the NAMA Foundation. The NAMA Foundation was unveiled at the 2018 Agri-Marketing Conference as the new organization to support the future of agri-marketing and Student NAMA.

The NAMA Foundation had great success with many fundraising opportunities at this year’s Agri-Marketing Conference.

On Tuesday, April 10, almost 65 people took part in the updated Topgolf Outing. It was a perfect day at Topgolf Overland Park, where attendees enjoyed cocktails and appetizers while they hit micro chipped golf balls to marked targets on the green.

The 2018 Century Club sign up was another big fundraiser put on by the NAMA Foundation. By the end of the conference, there were 95 names on the list! Out of those names, Vernon Benes, Beck Ag, was the big winner of this year’s Wine of the Month Club! Thanks to everyone who donated, the foundation is very excited for the fundraising success and to give back to the future of agri-business. Click here to see the 2018 Century Club List.

The students continued the raffle fundraiser again this year, sponsored by Farm Progress. Both before conference and onsite, students were trying to sell as many tickets as possible. Each ticket gave the buyer a chance to win a $1,000 Amazon gift card. The winner this year was Tracy Calvert, parent of an Iowa State University student.

And finally, the NAMA Foundation had HUGE success with this year’s Silent Auction. With over 68 donations, attendees had a wide variety of items to bid on. This year was one of the most profitable years for this fundraiser, with over $6,000 raised for Student NAMA! Thanks to everyone who bid.

NAMA Marketer of the Year Award

Written by NAMA on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 , 11:30 am

NAMA has named Ed Peck, President and Owner of Filament, as the 2018 NAMA Marketer of the Year.

This recognition is the most prestigious honor awarded to an active member of the association and recognizes outstanding accomplishments in the field of agri-marketing. The NAMA Marketer of the Year award will be presented during the Second General Session of the 2018 Agri-Marketing Conference on Thursday, April 12, in Kansas City, Missouri, and is sponsored by Agri Marketing magazine.

Ed Peck founded Filament with the sole focus of staying involved in the agricultural industry and to be a conduit for clients. Thirteen years later, the agency has grown from a single-man shop into a forty-person enterprise with over twenty-five clients.

As a dairy and beef cattle owner himself, Peck immerses himself in the agricultural industry and the daily fluctuations which affect the livelihood of those farmers around him, as well as the companies who serve them. Peck encourages his team members to stay involved in the agricultural industry – whether it’s with their own farms or industry organizations and causes. Employees are encouraged to attend industry events.

Outside of the agricultural industry, Peck is passionate about encouraging employees to participate in professional development so team members continue to grow together as a business and expand their marketing expertise and knowledge.

Peck has been an active member of the National Agri-Marketing Association (NAMA) for decades. Involved at both the regional and national level, he has spoken at regional NAMA events and is a regular judge for National Best of NAMA. He also supports employee memberships and involvement in the organization.

“The number one reason people join NAMA is for the networking…I’ve had the opportunity to really form long-lasting relationships. If I need feedback at my day job, I’ll call one of my NAMA colleagues and just talk it through. You get such great insight.” – Amy Bradford, Corporate Relations Manager at GROWMARK and 2017-2018 NAMA President
