{"id":890,"date":"2009-03-03T13:28:10","date_gmt":"2009-03-03T20:28:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.namablog.org\/?p=890"},"modified":"2009-03-04T08:17:56","modified_gmt":"2009-03-04T15:17:56","slug":"carolinasvirginia-spends-a-day-at-novartis-animal-health","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.namablog.org\/?p=890","title":{"rendered":"Carolinas\/Virginia Spends a Day at Novartis Animal Health"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Approximately 35 \u00e2\u20ac\u201c 40 participants attended the Carolinas\/Virginia Chapter event at Novartis Animal Health in Greensboro, NC on February 11.<\/p>\n<p>Bruce Zawadzi, email marketing manager at Novartis Animal Health, and Bryan Kristof, director of marketing at Signal Design, shared eMarketing tips and success stories on:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Internal and External&#8230;getting the Web sites right for brand and corporate<\/li>\n<li>Email      marketing<\/li>\n<li>Online      games for lead generation and sales training<\/li>\n<li>Web      analytics<\/li>\n<li>Utilizing      video online<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Several new terms were mentioned including BACN (pronounced bacon) which is similar to spam but it is unwanted email that you <u>did<\/u> request rather than unwanted email that you <u>did not<\/u> request.\u00c2\u00a0 Also used were, SEM is Search Engine Marketing and SEO is Search Engine Optimization.<\/p>\n<p>Zawadzi discussed PaperPetPals.com which was developed by Novartis as a fun web site that reminds pet owners when it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s time to renew their pet\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s prescriptions. This site also has games like Mabel\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Rescue which is a matching game and a page where you can make the animals dance by clicking on several different types of dance which strings them all together.<\/p>\n<p>Several tips were mentioned for designing or redesigning websites.\u00c2\u00a0 First, have <u>positive<\/u> messaging.\u00c2\u00a0 Refocus 80% of a landing page on a single primary audience.\u00c2\u00a0 Remove extra columns and use a larger typeface.<\/p>\n<p>The speakers also discussed Blogger.com which is free through a Google account.\u00c2\u00a0 It allows specific groups of people to communicate in a blog.
