{"id":7146,"date":"2013-05-01T07:32:03","date_gmt":"2013-05-01T14:32:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.namablog.org\/?p=7146"},"modified":"2013-05-01T08:47:23","modified_gmt":"2013-05-01T15:47:23","slug":"student-nama-award-winners-at-conference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.namablog.org\/?p=7146","title":{"rendered":"Student NAMA Award Winners at Conference"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.namablog.org\/images\/\/minn.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-7204\" title=\"minn\" src=\"https:\/\/www.namablog.org\/images\/\/minn.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>The winner of the 2013 Student Marketing Competition sponsored by Monsanto and FMC \u00c2\u00a0is &#8230; University of Minnesota!<\/p>\n<p>The University of Minnesota marketing team had nearly a dozen students involved with this  year&#8217;s project to provide home brewers with a distinct northern experience &#8211; hops that are locally grown and privately trademarked.<\/p>\n<p>Marketing Competition Results:<\/p>\n<p>2nd place &#8211; University of Guelph<br \/>\n3rd place &#8211; Kansas State University<br \/>\n4th place &#8211; University of Illinois-Urbana\/Champaign<br \/>\n5th place &#8211; Michigan State University<br \/>\n6th place &#8211; University of Wisconsin &#8211; Platteville<\/p>\n<p>Students decide on a project and develop a plan to successfully bring  the product or service to the marketplace. In developing their  marketing plan, students follow the same practices and principles used  by today\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s marketing professionals. Teams submit a written plan summary  prior to the competition and then make a formal presentation of their  marketing plan to a panel of judges at the competition. The judges\u00e2\u20ac\u2122  panel consists of marketing and agribusiness professionals.<\/p>\n<p>Overall,\u00c2\u00a029 student NAMA chapters participated in the marketing  competition. The competition is part of the annual Agri-Marketing  Conference.
