Twenty-two people recently met at the Nebraska Farm Bureau to discuss \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Dealing with Social Media, Blogging and SEO.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p>Four experts including Corrie Oberdin from IriDiAN Group (social media), Karissa Tomsen from Intertwine Interactive (SEO), Adrian Blake (blogging), and Kelly Cox from Valmont Industries (ag social media and marketing) delivered powerful messages on these topics. \u00c2\u00a0Each panelist talked about how they have observed many companies simply jumping into social media and blogging without a plan.<\/p>\n<p>Oberdin shared a checklist to use before launching social media efforts:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Set social media goals<\/li>\n<li>Develop a social media team<\/li>\n<li>Define your plan for social media<\/li>\n<li>Develop a policy for employees to adhere to<\/li>\n<li>Craft a response plan<\/li>\n<li>Outline a communication plan for social media<\/li>\n<li>Create a content calendar<\/li>\n<li>Track results<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s important to keep your blog content fresh. \u00c2\u00a0Why? \u00c2\u00a0Ninety-nine percent of all sales efforts start with the internet. \u00c2\u00a0Many buyers are combing the internet for products and services, so it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s surprising that only one in twenty blogs supplies updated content more than quarterly. \u00c2\u00a0Blake emphasized that bloggers can avoid this lag by planning ahead. \u00c2\u00a0Start with a strategy for your blog, offer distinctive content, build an audience and ask readers to take action.<\/p>\n<p>SEO continues to be a top priority for marketing teams. \u00c2\u00a0Specific do\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s and don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ts of SEO change daily. \u00c2\u00a0The best thing to do is get involved in understanding algorithm changes and then adapt to them quickly, said Tomsen.<\/p>\n<p>Cox shared that Valmont has undergone a two-year initiative to improve its social media marketing. \u00c2\u00a0The company followed many of the planning steps emphasized by the other panelists. \u00c2\u00a0As a result, they experienced a relatively smooth transition into the world of social media.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Navigating the social media waters is a hot topic for the Cornhusker NAMA Chapter.
