{"id":3454,"date":"2011-05-03T08:24:50","date_gmt":"2011-05-03T15:24:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.namablog.org\/?p=3454"},"modified":"2011-05-03T09:10:33","modified_gmt":"2011-05-03T16:10:33","slug":"the-media-and-technology-habits-of-farmers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.namablog.org\/?p=3454","title":{"rendered":"The Media and Technology Habits of Farmers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.namablog.org\/images\/\/midlandsmarch112.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-3574\" title=\"midlandsmarch11\" src=\"https:\/\/www.namablog.org\/images\/\/midlandsmarch112.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"175\" \/><\/a>The Midlands NAMA Chapter met at Water Street Solutions\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 Lincoln office on March 22 to get up to speed with the latest research regarding farmers\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 media use and how they\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re moving forward with technology adoption.<\/p>\n<p>Speakers included Ted Haller, a Marketing and Research Consultant with the NAFB, Sara Steever and Kristi Moss from Paulsen Marketing, and Curt Blades from Successful Farming.\u00c2\u00a0 While all had their own research, a number of pieces came to the same conclusion, for example, farmer adoption of smart phones.<\/p>\n<p>Take aways:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Marketers need to continue to offer a media mix, since there really is no silver bullet.<\/li>\n<li>We should make our web sites mobile phone friendly, because we can\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t control who is linking to us through social media.<\/li>\n<li>Farmers adopt technology through a series of triggers:\u00c2\u00a0 how often their cell phone contract lets them get a new \u00e2\u20ac\u0153free\u00e2\u20ac\u009d phone, younger family members that serve as tech support on the farm, in-cab technologies, experiences outside the farm (like an off-farm job), and ag advocacy work.<\/li>\n<li>Sometimes you just can\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t tell which farmers will be technology friendly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Midlands NAMA Chapter met at Water Street Solutions\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 Lincoln office on March 22 to get up to speed with the latest research regarding farmers\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 media use and how they\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re moving forward with technology adoption.
