{"id":2517,"date":"2010-06-17T10:51:50","date_gmt":"2010-06-17T17:51:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.namablog.org\/?p=2517"},"modified":"2010-06-17T10:51:50","modified_gmt":"2010-06-17T17:51:50","slug":"badger-members-help-celebrate-125-years-of-hoards-dairyman","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.namablog.org\/?p=2517","title":{"rendered":"Badger Members Help Celebrate 125 Years of Hoard&#8217;s Dairyman"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-2520\" title=\"hoards1\" src=\"https:\/\/www.namablog.org\/images\/\/hoards11.jpg\" alt=\"hoards1\" width=\"250\" height=\"158\" \/>More than 130 dairy industry enthusiasts gathered at the Hoard\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Dairyman Farm in Fort Atkinson on June 8, to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the Hoard\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Dairyman magazine.<\/p>\n<p>It was in January of 1885 when William Dempster Hoard wrote his first issue of a \u00e2\u20ac\u0153journal devoted to dairy farming\u00e2\u20ac\u009d as a supplement to The Jefferson County Union weekly newspaper. A commemorative issue will be hitting mailboxes. On the cover will be artist Bonnie Mohr\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s updated version of the famous \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Foster Mothers of the Human Race\u00e2\u20ac\u009d painting.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-2521\" title=\"hoards2\" src=\"https:\/\/www.namablog.org\/images\/\/hoards21.jpg\" alt=\"hoards2\" width=\"250\" height=\"164\" \/>During the event, panelists from all media avenues, discussed topics about communications changes and the challenges throughout the history of the dairy industry.  The day wrapped up with a tour of the largest and longest continually registered Guernsey herd in the United States.
