{"id":11759,"date":"2016-11-02T10:20:41","date_gmt":"2016-11-02T15:20:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.namablog.org\/?p=11759"},"modified":"2016-11-02T12:03:58","modified_gmt":"2016-11-02T17:03:58","slug":"midsouth-tours-mississippi-state","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.namablog.org\/?p=11759","title":{"rendered":"Midsouth Tours Mississippi State"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.namablog.org\/images\/\/MS-State-Rose-Garden-Group-10-2016.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-11760\" src=\"https:\/\/www.namablog.org\/images\/\/MS-State-Rose-Garden-Group-10-2016-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"ms-state-rose-garden-group-10-2016\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.namablog.org\/images\/MS-State-Rose-Garden-Group-10-2016-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.namablog.org\/images\/MS-State-Rose-Garden-Group-10-2016-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.namablog.org\/images\/MS-State-Rose-Garden-Group-10-2016-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>The Midsouth chapter is committed to supporting the student chapters, as well as supporting ongoing education of members in the field of Agriculture and Marketing.\u00c2\u00a0 Where could they do all of this at once?\u00c2\u00a0 A trip to Mississippi State University!\u00c2\u00a0 The Department of Agricultural Economics hosted the group of 10 members on Thursday, October 20<sup>th<\/sup>. \u00c2\u00a0They had a campus tour, highlighted by a trip to the Rose Garden.\u00c2\u00a0 Back on campus the chapter was joined by department staff and students for a department overview from Dr. Keith Coble. \u00c2\u00a0They were able to learn about the faculty and all of the interesting projects they are working on.\u00c2\u00a0 Over lunch members mingled with the student NAMA members, who were clearly an impressive bunch!\u00c2\u00a0 Following lunch, they\u00c2\u00a0concluded the afternoon with a presentation from the MS State Athletics Marketing Team. \u00c2\u00a0The group was\u00c2\u00a0able to learn what goes into their award winning work.\u00c2\u00a0 As marketing professionals, their methods were inspiring and impressive.\u00c2\u00a0 Hail State!<\/p>\n<p>The trip was very beneficial to Midsouth&#8217;s\u00c2\u00a0relationship with the student chapter. \u00c2\u00a0They got to see the students in their own environment and were able to get to know them beyond the once-a-year presentation.\u00c2\u00a0 It energized the members as well to realize how helpful they\u00c2\u00a0can be in their process. \u00c2\u00a0They also learned a lot about an important institution in the Ag industry, and how many important things that they do to contribute to its success.<\/p>\n<p>Next year, the chapter\u00c2\u00a0hopes to visit UT Martin as well.<\/p>\n<p>Special thanks to Darrah Pierce, Brad Allen, Stacey Swain and Margaret Oldham for helping to plan the event!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Midsouth chapter is committed to supporting the student chapters, as well as supporting ongoing education of members in the field of Agriculture and Marketing.\u00c2\u00a0 Where could they do all of this at once?\u00c2\u00a0 A trip to Mississippi State University!\u00c2\u00a0 The Department of Agricultural Economics hosted the group of 10 members on Thursday, October 20th.
