But it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s an important technology that allows farmers to produce more food with fewer pesticides, in a way that offers more protection for the environment. Farmers see it as an important tool in the larger goal of feeding a growing world population.<\/p>\n<p>Some consumers see it as something to avoid. In the extreme, it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s blamed for cancer and other medical conditions. There\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s a call to label foods produced using biotechnology.<\/p>\n<p>This event features two scientists who work in this area:<\/p>\n<p>-\u00c2\u00a0<strong>Dr. Tom Hoegemeyer<\/strong>\u00c2\u00a0is a University of Nebraska Adjunct Professor in Agronomy and Horticulture.
