The Importance of Public Relations

Laura RiesLaura Ries spoke today on “The fall of advertising and the rise of PR.”

She believes a brand needs to develop credibility through good public relations. Consumers of today are skeptical of what they see and hear in advertising.

The Extreme Future

James CantonThe opening general session speaker today was James Canton, Institute For Global Futures. He spoke on the “extreme future.”

You’ll have to listent to him explain that. One thing he believes is that communicators will need to use the internet and especially wireless devices like mobile phones and that includes farmers.

He was presented the award this morning during the opening general session. George sees a bright future for agribusiness.

Annual Golf Tournament

Golf TournamentI didn’t get to make it to the ABEF golf tournament but I hear is was very successful in raising funds for the foundation.

I was able to obtain one picture from the event.

It’s a rough job but someone has to do it.
