The Consumer, the Farmer and Sustainability
Consumers want to be more in touch with where their food comes from now more than ever. And research shows Americans are increasingly confident with the way farmers and ranchers grow and raise food in the U.S. However, is agriculture’s voice still missing from the conversation, and are consumers privy to the sustainable practices of today’s farmers and ranchers? The word “sustainability” brings ire from some, support from others, but what does sustainability actually mean? In this forward-thinking panel, panelists will discuss how they see the change in this definition is altering how they do business; and defining new opportunities for their operations.

Sustainability is a hot topic that many farm and consumer groups continue to debate. It’s a topic that agriculture can use to inspire others, elevating farmers, ranchers and the future of our industry. This special Ag Day panel will help define the “rules of engagement” for discussing this key issue and ways that people in agriculture can spark impactful dialogue.
