Badger NAMA members, colleagues and interns gathered June 26 for a few hours of summer networking.  The free event drew about 25 attendees to a Madison Mallards baseball game.  The casual atmosphere of the “Duck Blind” let everyone catch up on summer activities while enjoying free food and drinks and taking in the game.  Members were encouraged to bring their interns, giving students a chance to meet others in the area and learn about agri-marketing jobs in Wisconsin.  To complete a great night, the Mallards grabbed a 2-1 victory over the Battle Creek Bombers.

On Thursday, June 27th, MoKan NAMA members had the privilege of experiencing the state-of-the-art LEED-Certified Gold John Deere Sales and Marketing facility in Olathe, KS. The evening started with a brief presentation by Barry Nelson of John Deere. Barry talked about the structure of the energy-efficient facility and showed attendees a short video that showcased where the “future” of production agriculture is headed. The short presentation was followed by an evening of dinner and drinks on the patio. A group of interns, who are part of the AFA’s InterNetwork, joined MoKan NAMA members as well.

MoKan Golf is a Success!

Mother Nature delivered a great day for the MoKan Golf Tournament held at Falcon Lakes Golf Course on Tuesday, June 25.  We had a great turnout and proceeds will be used to support our student chapters.  The competition was fierce with the team of Ken Dean, Ken Staley, Sue Lee and Mitch Herring coming out on top with a smooth 10 under par round.  There was a tie for second place and a scorecard playoff was won by the team of Laurie Langstraat, Russ Snyder, Curtis Kramer and Joey Langstraat.  Congratulations to the winners and the overall winners will be our student NAMA chapters.  We look forward to next year.
